A letter of resignation is written to announce the writer’s intent to leave a position currently held, such as an office, employment or commission. Dear Mr. Wood:

I regretfully inform you that I intend to resign from my current position as Customer Service Manager for ABC Company effective two weeks from now i.e. November 26, 2017.

My resignation is solely based on personal reasons and it does not – in any way- imply that I am dissatisfied with my work. On the other hand, a family obligation forces me to relocate and it won’t be possible for me to continue work.

If there is anything I can do to help make this transition easier, please let me know. I do not intend to inconvenience you with this news, and I hope you will accept my most sincere apologies in making November 26 my final day here.

If necessary, I can be available for phone and email inquiries from home on a limited basis for the weeks following my departure date.

Thank you for the opportunities you have given me in my time with this company. I had an excellent working experience with your esteemed organization and all its staff members. I am sure that the knowledge and skills gained in this organization will help me all through my life.
