A Quality Inspector is responsible for checking the material goods on the production line and making sure that they meet the industry and client requirements. They either approves or rejects an item based on its final quality.
The responsibilities of a quality inspector include running tests, inspecting finished products, noticing defects, updating defect databases, analyzing products, and returning defect products for repairing.
To work in this role, one should possess skills such as physical fitness, stamina, dexterity, attention to details, communication, teamwork, and time management.
Educational requirements to become a quality inspector vary, depending on the industry, but a high school or technical college diploma is usually considered sufficient for this role.

• Read blueprints and instructions to understand product and supplies requirements.
• Approve or reject quality of raw materials before manufacturing begins with respect to quality standards.
• Perform complete layout inspection by measuring dimensions, such as length, height, and distance, between reference points to ensure product meets specifications.
• Operate precise instruments for measuring.
• Monitor operations of the entire production cycle to ensure that they meet production standards.
• Recommend adjustments to the process or assembly.
• Communicate visual and dimensional product quality standards to line operators
• Run statistical studies such as reproducibility and capability.
• Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained.
• Maintain and repair instruments as necessary
• Perform verification on incoming, in-process, and outgoing products.
• Perform in-depth inspection of the final product.
• Use automated systems to perform complex testing procedures.
• Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products.
• Find the faults in both materials and the manufacturing process.
• Correct those faults to ensure a better finished product.
• Accept or reject finished items.
• Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications.
• Maintain record of inspections and prepare list of defects.
