General duties of these professionals include maintaining and updating records, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, providing customer service, and handling correspondence.

An ideal candidate for the position of executive assistant should exhibit good communication and customer service skills along with excellent organization, time management, and prioritization expertise.

No formal education is required for this position. Most employees display a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.

Executive Assistant Sample Duties

• Manage calendars of executives, directors, and chief executive officers.
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and prepare the material.
• Maintain files and update records.
• Make travel arrangements, arrange staff meetings, and handle correspondence.
• Provide good customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients.
• Conduct research and assist with project management.
• Welcome clients and visitors and provide them with the required information.
• Maintain inventory of office supplies, and place orders as and when needed.
• Provide personal assistance to the executives.
• Arrange seminar agendas and record minutes of the meeting.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive documents.
