Sample Recommendation Letter for Teacher

A recommendation letter is a document which is written by a previous employer, colleague, client, teacher, or by someone else who can recommend an individual’s work or academic performance.

The goal of recommendation letters is to vouch for the skills, achievements, and aptitude of the person being recommended.

Writing a recommendation letter for a school teacher is not very difficult. If you had worked with the teacher or had observed the teacher impart education, then you have enough material to start writing the recommendation letter. A recommendation letter actually discusses the qualities and capabilities that make the candidate a good fit for a given position and if you know what a person can do in the said role, then writing a recommendation letter is not a big deal.

Given below is a sample recommendation letter for the position of a teacher for your guidance:

To Whom It May Concern

I am writing to recommend Halena Woodson for teaching position at ABC Elementary School. I have known Halena for 5 years, ever since she began working as an assistant teacher at The City School. She has always proven to be a wonderful person to work with.

She is a very enthusiastic and hardworking individual. It is her belief that Good education is the harbinger of an organized society and this belief has helped her to come a long way in her professional career.  She was the first teacher who formally got training for teaching Middle Year Program curriculum.

Halena’s biggest asset is her ability to utilize appropriate language and positive attitude to interact effectively with students and other staff.  Every aspect of her teaching is innovative. She has an ability to work well individually or as a part of a team. She has developed a very positive relationship with her students. She is a role model to them and they look up to her and often ask her for advice when they go through personal and academic problems.

I was extremely sad when told me that she has decided to leave The City School for another position, but I wish her all the best in all her future endeavors. I am confident that she would contribute effectively to your school.
